Homeschool Courses

Be part of an dynamic community of creativity here at RKA! We offer several options for young artists and musicians. These courses are designed to engage students of all ages and skill levels, and take them to the next level of their craft.

  • This class is an excellent starting point for brand-new musicians. Students will learn about rhythms and the basics of reading sheet music, be invited to explore various instruments, and encouraged to engage with their classmates in musical collaboration.

    This class also prepares students to audition for our ensembles!

  • This class offers hands-on instruction and project based learning for the beginning artist! Students will learn basic drawing and shading techniques, care and maintenance of tools and workspace, and the basics of color theory.

  • *Students may be asked to audition for this ensemble to assess skill level and voice placement.

    Join our brand-new homeschool choir! Students will be encouraged to grow both as an individual musician as well as a member of an ensemble. Students will develop their sight-singing skills, understanding of solfege, rhythms, melody, harmony, and how best to contribute to a group ensemble.

    Choral repertoire will be selected each semester based on the skill level and interests of the group.

    Join our brand-new homeschool guitar ensemble! Students will develop their sight reading skills with both sheet music and guitar tablature, grow in their understanding of rhythm, melody, harmony, and how all these things come together to shape the group’s sound.

    Repertoire will be selected each semester based on the skill level and interests of the group.

    Join our brand-new homeschool ukulele ensemble! Students will develop their sight reading skills with both sheet music and ukulele tablature, grow in their understanding of rhythm, melody, harmony, and how all these things come together to shape the group’s sound.

    Join our brand-new homeschool kalimba ensemble! Students will develop their sight reading skills, grow in their understanding of rhythm, melody, and harmony, and be encouraged to develop their individual musicianship as well as their ability to contribute as a member of an ensemble.
